Statement of St
Peter's Pre-school
Quality
early childhood education is the foundation for all other
learning.
Aims
of St Peter's Pre-school
The
aim of St Peters Preschool is to provide equal access to education
for all children regardless of ability, race, ethnic background,
religion, or economic status.
Each
child's individual needs are met in all developmental areas within
a fully inclusive program. St Peters Preschool continues to provide
a safe and secure environment with kind, compassionate staff to
meet the individual developmental needs of the children.
It
is part of St Peters Preschool philosophy to teach Christian values
and continue to work alongside St Peters Church.
Objectives
of St
Peters Pre-school concerning :
The
Children
and Families :
- To
provide high quality Preschool Education for 3-6 year old children
within the local and outlying areas.
- To
provide a program which meets the individual needs of each child in
the areas of social, emotional, physical, cognitive, creative,
communication and personal development.
- To
assist all children in the development of their independence and
self-help skills.
- To
support parents in all aspects of their child�s
development.
- To
assess and refer children with additional needs to other community
partners.
- To
provide a safe, nurturing environment.
- To
build strong social ties with both the immediate and extended
families of each child.
- To
accept and embrace cultural differences of families with our
community.
- To
assist each child reach their full potential as a member of their
own and the broader community.
- To
help each child develop the skills to make the transition to school
as positive and smooth as possible.
- To
openly communicate with parents at all times.
- To
provide relevant, up to date, current information to parents
throughout the year in the form of newsletters, noticeboards and
displays.
- To
display our program in an informative, educationally sound
way.
- To
display and celebrate the achievements of the children.
- To
engage parents and extended family in social activities to assist
them in becoming part of the Preschool community.
- To
maintain a flexible program based on the principles of a curriculum
which emerges from the children and the community�s interests and
needs.
- To
involve parents in the overall running of the Preschool through
various activities and management committee
involvement.
The
Community :
- To
ensure that the ever changing needs of the community are being
met.
- To
uphold and strengthen existing links between the Preschool and St
Peters South Tamworth Anglican Church.
- To
strengthen links with other Education Providers within the
community.
- To
provide a unique, specialist service within the Tamworth
community.
- To
forge links with a wider cross section of the Tamworth
community.
- To
provide an educational experience to outlying rural families from
smaller communities within Tamworth Regional Council
Area.
Staff
:
- To
retain a highly qualified, motivated compassionate staff to meet
the needs of the children and families within the Preschool
community.
- To
provide a safe, healthy, positive working environment for all
staff, volunteers and students.
- To
provide every opportunity for staff to update / expand on their
education in the early childhood field.
Governing/Funding
Bodies :
- To
maintain and upkeep grounds to provide a safe, healthy
environment.
- To
keep and update all recording requirements - regarding enrolments
procedures, programming, OH & S, staffing etc.
- To
keep record of all monies both incoming and outgoing.
- To
maintain a sound economic budget.
- To
maintain current First Aid training for all primary contact
staff
- .To continue to
meet all constitutional requirements.
- To
adhere to all requirements as outlined in the Children�s Services
Regulations 2004
- To
ensure all financial reports/records are audited
annually.
- To
upkeep annual insurances, workers compensation and any other
payments required.
